FAQ

Shipping & customs

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are packed in Fez and dispatched within 2-3 working days. Shipping cost and delivery time are calculated at checkout based on your destination.

Can you ship by air freight?

Yes. Besides DHL Express at checkout, we can organise air freight with a private shipping company on request, which suits larger or bulkier orders. Email fezceramics@gmail.com with your destination and order details and we'll send you a quote.

How do you ship to Europe?

As well as DHL Express, we ship to Europe with a transport company we have worked with for years, chosen because it is reliable and careful with fragile ceramics. Delivery takes 10–15 days. There is no online tracking: we give you the driver's phone number so you can follow your delivery directly.

Do I have to pay customs or import duties?

Orders shipped outside Morocco may be subject to import duties or taxes set by the destination country. These are not included in the price at checkout and are paid by the recipient.

How are the ceramics packed?

Every piece is wrapped individually and boxed with protective padding. Tagines and large platters are double-boxed.

What if a piece arrives damaged?

Send us a photo of the piece and the box within 7 days of delivery at fezceramics@gmail.com and we will replace it or refund you. See our refund policy.

Care instructions

How do I care for glazed tableware?

Dishwasher safe, but hand washing keeps hand-painted colours bright for longer.

How do I season a clay tagine?

Before first use, soak the tagine in water overnight, let it dry, then rub the inside with olive oil. Cook on low heat and never move a hot tagine onto a cold surface.

How do I clean decorative pieces and zellige?

Wipe decorative pieces with a damp cloth and avoid soaking matte finishes. Seal zellige after installation and clean it with mild soap, never with acid or bleach.

Authenticity

Are the pieces really handmade in Fez?

Yes. Every tagine, bowl and tile we sell is thrown, glazed and painted by hand in workshops in Fez. Our zellige is still cut tile by tile with a hammer and chisel.

Why does my piece look slightly different from the photo?

No two pieces are the same. Small variations in tone, line and glaze are part of the craft, not a fault.

Do you work directly with the workshops?

We buy directly from the workshops, which keeps the price fair for you and fair for the people who make the work.
